The Passion Plunge

              (Massachusetts Special Olympics)

                                                  

    The mission of Special Olympics

     Massachusetts (SOMA) is to provide

     year-round sports training and athletic

    competition in a variety of well-coached

    Olympic-type sports for individuals with

    intellectual disabilities by providing them

    with continuing opportunities to develop

    physical fitness, prepare for entry into

    school and community programs, express

    courage, experience joy, and participate in

    the sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with

    their families, other Special Olympics

   Athletes,  and the community.

    This all takes money.  The Passion Plunge

     is an event set up each year in order to help                                         PICTURES  1  |  2  |  3  |  4  |  5  |  6  |  7

     raise money for The Massachusetts Special                             

     Olympics.  Individuals and groups raise money

     by being sponsored to run into the ocean - oh

     yeah, we forgot to mention, they do this event

     in February!

     We helped The Passion Plunge by baking cookies

     and selling them at our location along with a

     donation bucket where people could donate

     directly.  If you have ever been to a Special

     Olympics event, then you know your money

     is going to a good cause.  If you haven't then

     check out these sites and see if you can't find

     some extra money.
